Where Have Gone Those Bees and Butterflies?

It is a sad experience this year for me to find my garden not yielding as usual. Plants bloom and flower. But no pollination. No movement of bees and butterflies. Where are those bees and butterflies? Are they gone once and for all? If it is so, just think of the future world struggling for food.
When we drive around here today, we can see hundreds of beautiful lawns in "perfect" green. There is not even a single daisy, insect or worm which we used to see everywhere some years ago. The green lawn may be cool to look at. But it is really painful to look at these barren lands without any vibrant creature. Bees and butterflies are necessary for healthy survival Bees and butterflies are our life-giving companions. The danger that their decline means danger to the whole creation. Butterflies, bees and other pollinators are the messengers of the world’s food supply. Use of chemicals and pesticides cause the extinction of such species. If their number decreases, how can a pollination for producing vegetables and fruits occur? Yes, the world has to think of banning certain pesticides, suspected of playing a role in so-called “colony collapse disorder.” Because they are very essential for the healthy survival of every living being. A few years ago, we could see daisies and other flowers growing wildly in vacant lands. Bees and butterflies frequented there to feed themselves and to feed others -- to extend life on this earth. Bees and butterflies frequented there to feed themselves and to feed others -- to extend life on this earth. Today also we see daisies here and there but where are those bees and butterflies? We have a large butterfly bush in the back porch. We could see bees and butterflies visiting this place often. For the past one or two years, they are visited only occasionally. Even today my bush is in full bloom. But no butterfly. Just one or two bumblebees, showing their presence. It may be to warn us about the declining population of bees and butterflies. My vegetable garden, which has been yielding fruits and vegetables, is standing like a barren lady. Is it because there has been no pollination? Perfect lawns may be perfect and green, grown so well because of fertilizers and pesticides. But what about these bees and butterflies that have to come to feed us? Are they afraid of entering such "perfect lawns"? It may be pleasing for me to look at my clovers and violets. But what about the robins which were seen everywhere in our yard?
