Sugar Addiction - Kill It Before It Kills You

Sugar addiction is the modern monster that is killing millions indirectly and directly. Modern diet changes are pulling more and more people into the dangerous addiction of using refined sugar. This habit of sugar intake and addiction to sugar will definitely cause dangerous diseases in us and an early death. People are growing more addicted to refined sugar, even without their knowledge. Commercialism and consumerism of the modern world cannot do this. Only awareness without any selfish motive can promote this.

In fact, modern world is consuming excessive sugar in their diet. Studies say that worldwide we are consuming about 500 extra calories a day from sugar which means that we consume about a pound of weight every day. This habit of sugar intake and addiction to sugar will definitely cause dangerous diseases in us and an early death.

Sugar addiction the killer of the modern era

1) Although many people know that sugar is not good for them, they add more sugar taking it granted that the risk of excess sugar consumption is less than that of having too much saturated and trans fat, sodium or calories. This habit of additional consumption leads to the intake of tons of sugar.

2) Excess in sugar intake is one of the major causes of heart problems. A  2013 study in the Journal of the American Heart Association published recently has shown the strong evidence that sugar can actually affect the pumping mechanism of your heart and could increase the risk for heart failure. It is the number one cause of obesity and diabetes.

3) Sugar specifically promotes belly fat which causes fatal diseases. An article posted by Kristin Kirkpatrick, M.S., R.D., L.D. in Huffingtonpost.com states that adolescent obesity rates have tripled in the past 30 years and childhood obesity rates have doubled.

4) An overload of sugar consumed in beverages shortens life and kills people earlier. A 2013 study reported by Dr. Kristin  estimated that 180,000 deaths worldwide may be attributed to sweetened beverage consumption.

How to overcome the sugar addiction?

There are ways to get free from sugar addiction and protect you from the dangers of refined sugar intake. Here are a few suggestions for your sugar-free health.

1) Reduce the use of this poisonous white crystals- the refined sugar- and replace them with raw, organic fruits and vegetables. It is the first step in breaking a sugar addiction and freeing yourself from sugar craving.

2) Substitute your eating of pastries with whole grain bread and raw honey eating. Enjoy the taste of homemade whole grain bread drizzled with raw, unpasteurized local honey. I enjoyed reading this article. I would also like to apoligize for taking to so long to answer your question about if I use word pad to do my articles. The soft ware I use for writing is Microsoft Word Start and WordPerfect. By using these two I am able to double check my spelling and grammar.
