It has been reported that as many as 56 people across the southernmost states of the US have recently been infected with a bacteria generally known as Listeria. However, the most surprising, and indeed alarming aspect of this outbreak is that it has been found in the seemingly innocuous fruit known generally as a cantaloupe.
